The Studio

Sandford Studio is the dining room of the former hotel so it’s very grand inside and located in the centre of Church Stretton.

We have antique pine kitchen tables and modern height-adjustable tables enabling us to offer many crafts, from detailed jewellery making and painting to textiles, stained glass and paper crafts, while ensuring everyone can work in comfort.

We have a sink in the workshop and a bathroom. and somewhere nice to sit together at break times. Tea and coffee and cake are provided throughout the day and for those on a one-day course, the fee includes lunch which is provided by Saxtons, the local delicatessen.

Beyond the studio lies the spectacular Shropshire Hills National Landscape, one of England's finest walking destinations.

Spend the day learning a new skill, then discover the hills - The Long Mynd, Ragleth, Lawley, Caer Caradoc and Hope Bowdler Hill. In the evening enjoy an authentic Thai meal, Indian curry or visit one of the gastro pubs in the area.

Come for craft. Stay for nature, adventure and relaxation.
